Our 5th graders had a terrific time at the Seneca Schoolhouse!
We stepped back in time 145 years to 1880, recreating the experience of attending school by children from farming, crafting, merchant, bargeman, and milling families in the historic town of Seneca. Students participated in a lively spelling bee, discovered how the C&O Canal locks work, and enjoyed playing traditional games from that era.
It was an incredibly immersive experience that brought history to life, fostering a deeper understanding of the past and building empathy along the way!
