Edlin School’s chapter of MathCounts National Math Club has achieved Gold Level Status. Our Team participated in accomplishing a Service Project which had two required elements—math and community service. Our club had to come up with ideas on how they can use their math skills and give back to their school, their community, or their peers. Each student had to commit at least 2 hours to the project. They also had to have a tangible aspect that could be used to aid in their service.
Our Club divided ourselves up into 3 groups, with each group responsible for a grade. Each set of students created a math game or a math activity and coordinated with teachers in different grades to effectively assist and help with a math lesson. This is an extremely commendable accomplishment as it is the highest level of recognition in the National Math Club. We are extremely proud of all the hard work and effort our students put in to give back to the younger grades.
