Edlin School’s Music Department hosted its very first ever Sock Hop Dance. Students learned about the style of music from the 1950’s and also the culture of America during this time. Students compared and contrasted these cultural changes of today’s society.
The main idea that has not changed is that music and dance brings people together for a “Rockin’ Good Time!” Our Edlin Community danced the night away in their poodle skirts and leather jackets under the night sky and of course, a mirror ball! Students even learned the science of how music was originally recorded and eventually turned into Records. Edlin School fosters children to become more cultured and have a better understanding of what it means to be a “well-rounded human.” Our programs are cross curricular to inspire the next generation of thinkers.
