On Saturday, January 20th, a team of six Edlin School 6th and 7th grade students competed against fifteen other schools from Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington DC, in the 2018 Future City Mid-Atlantic Region Competition held at the Baltimore Museum of Industry.
Edlin School was presented the 1st place Future City Overall Award (Trophy), receiving a full score on their model. The team also received the Students Choice Award and individual Star Performers Medals.
Our elite team will now head to Washington DC next month to represent Edlin School and the Mid-Atlantic Region in the Future City National and International Competition
The Future City Competition requires innovation, creativity, and skillful engineering. This year’s theme is an age-friendly city where the students were challenged to identify one age-related problem that the cities of today face and had to present solutions to help the elderly remain active, independent, and engaged.
Edlin School congratulates all the members of our Future City Team, their coaches and mentors, and the Edlin staff that gave support and guidance. We all wish them continued success in the February’s Future City National and International Competition.
