Last week was Leadership Week at Edlin, a powerful reminder that leadership starts with passion, initiative, and the courage to make a difference. As part of this special week, Edlin hosted a dynamic speaker series featuring inspiring individuals who shared their unique leadership journeys.
Our students were moved by Vruti Chaudhari, a high school student and founder of a non-profit, who described how a visit to an Indian school for the blind led her to take action, proving that even small efforts can create lasting change. Lower school students explored leadership skills with Randy Andersen, gaining practical insights into how they can start their leadership journey. The week concluded with an engaging assembly from Miss Washington DC, Katie Ann Powell, who captivated students with her message about turning dreams into reality—using familiar stories like Frozen and Annie to illustrate perseverance and determination. She also spoke about her own journey of achieving her dreams, from becoming a financial advisor and professional harpist and vocalist to running her successful podcast, Full Confidence Ahead, and winning Miss Washington DC.
As an extension of Leadership Week, our middle school leaders will soon take their learning beyond the classroom with a trip to the State Capitol, where they will see leadership in action firsthand.
