Edlin School was invited to The Mansion on O Street in Washington DC to participate in a commemorative video honoring the civil rights icon, Mrs. Rosa Parks. Limited to 10 students, we entered The Mansion and were greeted by the owner, Mrs. HH Leonard. After a short informative video about Mrs. Parks and her connection to The Mansion (Rosa Parks was a resident of The Mansion for ten years), the students and chaperones were recorded reading many quotes written or spoken by Rosa Parks to be used in a commemorative video of her life.
After the recordings were completed, The Mansion Chairman took us throughout many of the rooms in the mansion. Each room had a theme and historical items in plain sight (and some hidden behind secret doors).
