The middle school math teachers here at Edlin School are always doing their best to keep math interesting. Most recently, they have made projects to celebrate the World Cup! The students have been graphing the path of a soccer ball using positive and negative slopes and the coordinates of different players, creating reverse-engineered equations for trivia answers, and calculating the chances of a team progressing to the finals using probability, combinations, and permutations.
The students are having a great time learning about math and the World Cup at the same time!
